[BOOTH, John Wilkes]. Printed playbill for a performance in which Booth appeared at the Boston Museum, Boston, Mass., on 4 February 1863. Folio playbill, 435 x 135 mm., minor staining, mounted on card. Similar to the preceding, advertising the appearance of Booth as Claude Melnotte in Lady of Lyons, by Edward Bulwer Lytton. Reviewers often noted that the work was one "which would be 'especially pleasing to the ladies'" (G. Samples, Lust for Fame: The Stage Career of John Wilkes Booth, p.69, but THIS PERFORMANCE NOT RECORDED). Booth's theatrical posters are increasingly scarce.
