The molded broken swan's-neck pediment centering and flanked by flame-carved finials above an arched glazed door revealing a white-painted dial with Arabic chapter rings centering the inscription David Gobrecht/HANOVER enclosed by black and red painted and gilt-stencilled foliate medallion spandrels surmounted by a painted moon dial with Arabic chapter ring over two painted terrestrial maps, all over a waisted case with banded inlay centered by two inlaid tear drops flanked by chamfered sides with banded inlay centering a rectangular door with inlaid elongated ovoid above a box base with similar chamfered sides and banded inlay centering a similar inlaid elongated ovoid, on bracket feet

Please note that according to family tradition the clock was made for Martin Lohr and Hannah Shriver upon their marriage in 1811. The clock is being sold by decendants in the Lohr family and family documents and photographs accompany the lot.
