for Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee (1897), the body of square trencher-style (the front inscribed with a reversed intial "E", surmounted by an Earl's coronet, below "22nd June 1897"), the hinged moulded lid inset with a commemorative medal: the outer side showing Queen Victoria's head in profile bearing the legend "VICTORIA ANNVM REGNI SEXAGESIMVM FELICITER CLAVDIT XX IVN. MDCCCXCVII." the reverse showing Queen Victoria in profile as a younger woman, bearing the legend "LONGITVDO DIERVM IN DEXTERA EIVS ET IN SINISTRA GLORIA" ("I837" below the profile), the inkwell of clear cut glass, J. B. Carrington 1897 London, 8.5cms approx. square.
