A large George II tankard,
of slightly tapering form, the front engraved with a large armorial together with the motto "PER VIAS RECTAS" (By right ways) for the BLACKWOOD family, body band to lower body, on moulded foot, the stepped domed cover with scroll and bar thumbpiece, the scroll handle (maker's mark), I.S, Exeter 1728, 19.6cms high overall - 32.5ozs.
