Phil Palmer started touring with Eric Clapton at the beginning of the European Tour in July 1989 and played with him on stage during the Royal Albert Hall Concerts in 1991. Godin supplied Palmer with guitars at that time and they presented Clapton with this guitar via Phil Palmer. The vendor purchased this guitar at a charity auction held on the occasion of a charity cricket match to mark the 250th Anniversary of Ripley Cricket Club, Surrey. Apparently, Clapton was due to play in the match but was unable to attend as it coincided with the Crossroads concert at Madison Square Garden so he donated this guitar instead.
