Lot Essay

These programmes are from some of the most famous Jimi Hendrix Experience concerts held in the U.K. At the June Saville concert, the last U.K. appearance before Monterey, Paul McCartney was in the audience and was honoured to see Hendrix performing Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band just three days after the album had been released. The August Saville concert was supposed to include two shows but the second show was cancelled after news was received of Brian Epstein's death. The U.K. Tour programme was for the Experience's second U.K. tour, the first time that the Experience were headlining. The tour began at the Royal Albert Hall and finished in Glasgow.
