A rare photocopied typescript document addressed to Glitterbest and The Sex Pistols Messrs. John Lydon, Stephen Jones and Paul Cook ("the group") and John Beverley, from Glen Matlock, dated 22nd March, 1977, Matlock confirming his resignation from the group as of February 11th 1977 and wish to be released from all further obligations to the Manager under the said Agreement [20th September, 1976] and the group and otherwise, the document detailing the financial settlement and his entitlement to royalties, signed in black ballpoint pen by Glen Matlock, John Lydon, Stephen Jones, Paul Cook and John Beverley, 2 pp.; accompanied by a Virgin press release regarding the reformed group, photocopies of various clippings and magazine articles regarding the group; and a black and white Virgin publicity photograph of the reformed Sex Pistols, 1996 -- 10x8in. According to an interview with Lydon in Jon Savage's book England's Dreaming, Glen Matclock was ..."the best musician out of the lot of us" however irreconcilable musical differences between the two propelled Matlock to leave the group in February, 1977. Malcolm McLaren's reaction was swift, and according to Matlock..."within a week he'd sent NME a telegram that he'd sacked me"
