This letter was written during The Beatles' last stint in Hamburg. After the release of their first single Love Me Do on 2nd October, they had been increasingly busy. Brian Epstein had begun to secure more non-Liverpool venues, as well as radio and television interviews, consequently their prior commitment to the Hamburg dates meant that they were becoming increasingly irksome. The Beatles travelled to Brimingham to record Thank Your Lucky Stars at Alpha Television Studios on 13th January, 1963 - it was to be their most important televsion appearance to date.
