A pair of ormolu-mounted Sevres-pattern green-ground oviform vases and covers
In the Empire Revival Style, Painted by F. Anitolet, Last quarter 19th Century
Each with richly-gilt domed cover with engine-turned acorn finial, the body decorated with raised gilding of scrolling foliage and a band of anthemia, with a pair of acanthus-cast swan handles, one painted to one side with a panel depicting the seated figures of Napoleon and Josephine and other figures within a wooded landscape, and to the other side with a view of a château, the other vase decorated with a similar panel of figures in Empire dress and to the other side with a view of a lake and a fountain, on spreading foot and square base cast with laurel and anthemia, on paw feet, with iron-red Sèvres Manufacture marks
