A Continental kingwood, crossbanded and ormolu mounted bureau plat, late 19th century
Of large size, in the Louis XV style, the rectangular crossbanded top inset with a panel of tooled leather, within a moulded brass border with foliate scroll cartouche clasps to the angles, the arched frieze with brass panels centred by satyr masks, with acanthus leaf ornament, containing three drawers to one side, the sides with female masks with pierced scroll necklace and foliate ornament, raised on cabriole legs applied with espagnolettes female masks and terminating in foliate paw sabots
