Comprising a steel penbox with rounded ends and sliding tray, the top with a naskh inscription within a long cartouche with floral terminals, signed below by Shafiq, the end of the tray with the tughra of Mahmud I, together with a paper-knife with mother-of pearl blade, the rounded agate handle also suitable for burnishing paper, two knives with bone handles, each blade stamped with the maker's name, four ivory pen-rests (makta), one elaborately carved with floral border, one with the name Bakri, and six pairs of scissors, all with gold or silver damascened decoration, three with brass handles forming the invocation "Ya fatih" (Oh opener), most items with some wear
