AFGHANISTAN OR EASTERN PERSIA, EARLY 13TH CENTURY
The irregularly shaped grey schist panel carved on each side with the various panels necessary to make up two complete different leather purses, one with spiralling vine terminating in animal heads within a scrolling motif and human face border, the other with bolder spiralling vine around similar medallions, occasional lightly engraved sketches for other motifs, broken in two parts and crudely repaired
