Comprising a cubic base surmounted by a cylinder with domed upper section, the dome carved with spiralling bands of naskh inscription, the cylinder with a single bold band of naskh, each side of the base with an arched panel, one of the arches deeply carved making a socket or niche, surface slightly rubbed

Lot Essay

The inscription on the main band reads: There is no god but God, the Unique One, the subduer. There is no god but God, the Sublime One. It is only possible to read a couple of letters in the smaller spiralling inscriptions around the top.
