JAMES PARKER
PROPERTY FROM THE PRIVATE COLLECTION OF TOM JACOBSON James Parker (1915-87) is perhaps best known for his design work in silver and enamel, now in the collection of the Witchita Museum of Contemporary Crafts. His extant photographic work is virtually limited to this group of 44 gelatin silver prints. The images, small-scale, intricately detailed and with unusual perspectives, are strongly reflective of his jeweler's eye and were taken by Parker in 1939 on a trip from his home in San Diego to Europe, via New York.
