Lot Essay

Daniel Macdonald, a native of Cork, was best known as a portrait painter during his all too short career. He did, however, paint the occasional gentre scene such as 'Bowling Match at Castlemary' which was sold by Christie's in Co. Galway in 1988 on behalf of the Cork and County Club.
