No VAT will be charged on the hammer price, but VA… 顯示更多 Lawrence Scott was born in Sheffield on 23rd April 1917 and began his playing career in 1931 with amatuer side Bradford City. He turned professional in 1934. He signed for Arsenal in February 1937 and quickly established a reputation for being the fastest right-back of his generation. He remained with the club for 13 years winning the Football League Championship in 1948 and the 1950 F.A.Cup. Scott made a total of ten wartime appearances for England and made his first full England International appearance against Northern Ireland on 28th September 1946 and was in good company with Swift, Hardwick, Wright, Franklin, Cockburn, Finney, Mannion and Langton also making their debuts, the match ended in a 7-2 victory for England. He made a further sixteen appearances for his country. Scott left Arsenal in 1951 to become player-manager at Crystal Palace, he retired from playing in 1953, but continued on as manager at Crytsal Palace until 1954.
