A white England International shirt, with button-up cotton collar and embroidered cloth badge, circa 1935
The above shirt was given to a previous vendor by Fred Tilson, who made a total of four appearances for England at full International level between 1934 and 1936
Tilson was born in Barnsley on 19th April 1904 and joined Manchester City in 1928. With City he won a Championship medal in 1937 and a F.A. Cup winner's medal in 1934. In March 1938 he was transfered to Northampton Town and in 1939 he played for York City. After the war he became Manchester City's coach and subsequently became assistant manager before becomimg the club's chief scout in 1965. Tolson died on 21st November 1972
