An extremely finely engineered mid 19th-Century single cylinder horizontal mill engine
with brass-bound mahogany lagged cylinder approximately 1¾in. bore x 4in. stroke, cylinder lubricator and cylinder head draincock, centrally mounted valve chest with separate steamways, main stop valve and exhaust pipe with flanged joints, studded stuffing boxes, pedestal mounted bar type crosshead guides, tapered connecting rod with forked little end and marine type big end, crankshaft mounted in split bearings in curved trunnions, spoked belt pulley and flywheel, cast bed and display base, finished in dark green and polished brightwork -- 8 x 19in. (20.3 x 48.3cm.) contemporary mahogany framed glazed case.
