A detailed model of the American river stern wheel paddle steamer River Queen,
built by J. Hinchcliffe with upper deck details including stayed brass bound black-painted funnels with crowns and braces, glazed wheelhouse with whistles, benches, brass bell, sky lights, companionways, windows with shutters, safety valve extension pipes, deck rails, lower deck with anchors, capstan, bitts, boarding planks, rope coils, water barrels, stowed logs and stern paddlen wheel. The hull, with twin rudders, is finished in varnish and mounted on four turned brass columns set on plush lined base within a top-hinged glazed display case. Measurements overall -- 13¾ x 28 x 8in. (35 x 71 x 20.3cm.)
