LOU GEHRIG'S 1933 MAJOR LEAGUE CONTRACT
A contractual agreement between Henry Louis Gehrig and the American League Baseball Club Of New York for the 1933 season.
The contract states that the Yankees will pay Gehrig $23,000 in semi-monthly installments for that year. The contract is stamped April 12, 1933 and approved by the American League President as signed William Harridge. The contract is signed by Gehrig with his legal signature Henry Louis Gehrig and also by club President Jacob Ruppert. As witness to the event, the Yankee General Manager also signed E.G. Barrow with the date of the signing as March 10, 1933. A Certificate of Authenticity accompanies the contract and a Letter of Authenticity is provided by James Spence.
