A REGENCY PARCEL-GILT AND SIMULATED ROSEWOOD ARMCHAIR
Circa 1805
The incurved tablet crestrail with molded surround and panelled Apollo's mask issuing scrolling palmettes to each side on backscrolled stiles and above a reeded horizontal splat with central palmette clasp, the downswept arms on caryatid supports with turned base, the caned rectangular seat with two-tone gold striped drop-on seat cushion, above reeded apron and X-form legs headed by panelled paterae and joined by turned stretchers and with squared collared feet, with the yellow chalk inscription 64.293
