A REGENCY MAHOGANY AND EBONISED SECRETAIRE-BOOKCASE
Circa 1810
The later arched pediment and ball finials above a Greek key inlaid frieze and a pair of ogee arched astragal glazed doors, enclosing four adjustable shelves between acanthus corbels heading fluted and reeded uprights, the lower section with fitted secretaire drawer enclosing eight drawers, pigeonholes and book-spine document slides about a heraldic inlaid door, with a pair of roundel-applied squared-cornered panelled cupboard doors with compartmented interior, each fitted with a shelf, between canted reeded angles on a plinth base.
