A PAIR OF GEORGE III GILTWOOD GIRANDOLES
Probably circa 1775
Each urn-shaped plate within a scrolled acanthus surround set at the top and sides with flowerheads suspending laurel swags, the base centered by an oval flowerhead medallion issuing two acanthus-sheathed S-branches each surmounted by a leaftip knop, concave drip-pan hung with cut-glass drops and a reeded urn-shaped bobèche, the whole surmounted by a large acanthus clasp supporting a shelf with leaftip lambrequin hung at either side by a laurel swag and surmounted by a flower-filled urn, regilt
