Maker's mark of Stephan Westerstrahle, Stockholm, 1797
Cylindrical on three ball feet cast with foliage and headed by acanthus and putti, the plain body with engraved inscription on front, the tubular foliate-capped scroll handle with large bud thumbpiece, the cover engraved with laurel and berry band and inset with plaque depicting classical figures at harvest, with coin set into base and under cover, marked on body and cover bezel, also with scratchweight 206 Lod

Lot Essay

The engraved inscription on the front reads: "Till Kyrkoherden J.R. Hillberg af ahorare och vanner innom St. Clare Forsamling 1833" which translates as "To the Pastor J.R. Hillberg from the congregation and friends of St. Clare 1833".
