Maker's mark of John Emes, London, 1804/5
Comprising a coffee jug on stand with burner, a teapot on stand, a sugar bowl and a cream jug; each circular with basketweave and foliate bands at shoulder, the coffee pot and teapot with ivory scroll handles with female mask joins, short anthemion-clad spouts, hinged covers with bud finials and on stands with four paw feet and foliate borders, one side of each engraved with a coat-of-arms and motto, the other with a crest, marked under bases, covers, finials, stands and burner, the coffee jug, stand and burner 1805, the others 1804

The arms are those of Elphinstone with Fullerton in pretence for William, second son of Charles, 10th Baron Elphinstone, who married in 1774 Elizabeth, daughter of William Fullerton of Carstairs, Lanarkshire, heiress of her uncle, John Fullerton of Carbery Tower, Midlothian.
