The chalice and paten maker's mark of Dupont Freres, the cruet set maker's mark of Poussielgue-Rusant, circa 1877
Comprising a silver-gilt chalice in neo-gothic taste, the stepped shaped circular foot set with enamels of saints and panels of filigree work, rising to a central knop spelling "Jesus", and the cup with part filigree work and inscribed in Latin, This is the cup of My blood, the silver-gilt paten with a wreath of grape vines and wheat sheafs encircling an enamel of Christ; the cruet set on shaped oval gilt metal stand with filigree work centering stones, the corners set with portraits of saints with two raised stem supports for two silver-mounted glass bottles, each on shaped foot set with stones, the bodies with bands of filigree and the domed hinged covers with finials set with stones, all in a fitted velvet lined travelling case.
