A Louis XV ormolu-mounted tulipwood, amaranth and parquetry commode

The serpentine-fronted moulded rectangular grey-veined red marble top above two drawers inlaid sans traverse with cube parquetry within a shaped rectangular cartouche framed by geometric strapwork, the sides inlaid conformingly, the waved apron with a foliate and C-scroll mount, flanked by keeled angles headed by cabochon clasps terminating in foliate sabots, stamped J. Dufour, the marble and top numbered in ink 12 no , and inscribed Le Cuvie....acife, remounted, the marble restored
