The massive double scroll terminals of the female term supports to this impressive side table are suggestive of the late work of the firm of the celebrated fondeur-doreur Pierre-Philippe Thomire (1751-1843). Though Thomire himself retired in 1823, his firm, Thomire et Cie., survived until after 1850.
