This remarkable set of dining chairs, with their back splat in the form of a military trophy applied with the Hapsburg double eagle, no doubt trace their origin to an interior intended for either Joseph II (d. 1790) or Leopold II , Holy Roman Emperors who ruled the grand duchy of Tuscany at this time.
