Comprising a simulated-turtle shell engraved at the top with crossed American flags and the motto E Pluribus Unum on a ribbon above the motto We Owe Allegiance To No Crown below, with an oval portrait of Abraham Lincoln on the left and George Washington on the right, above a Mississippi River paddle wheeler "The Robert E. Lee", on the right a three-masted schooner, all above an eagle and shield with the motto Under My Wings Everything Prospers, and a pair of simulated walrus tusks, one engraved with a pair of walruses flanking a rondel stating Taken from deal walrus, October 17, 1842 - First Mate T. Bowers and the tip with a cannon and American flag; the other dated 1779 and engraved with a portrait rondel of Richard Pearson, Captain and John Paul Jones, the reverse with sailing ships; silver mounts and ebonized bases
