A NORTH-WEST PERSIAN BRONZE SWORD
EARLY 1ST MILLENNIUM B.C.
The long tapering blade with forked guard, the hilt decorated with groups of encircling horizontal incised lines, with 'ear' pommel; another bronze sword with long blade and right-angular guard, the four sided hilt with bell-shaped pommel with horizontal ribbing, both 28¼ in. (71.7 cm.) long av.; and a bronze dagger with triangular-shaped blade, the ribbed hilt with curved guard and conical pommel with openwork triangles, 163/8 in. (41.6 cm.) long, all early 1st millennium B.C. (3)
