A French gilt-brass striking and repeating carriage clock with alarm, circa 1840
The one piece case with white enamel Roman dial (cracks to two corners) with alarm ring below, blued steel moon hands, the twin barrel movement with gilt platform to the plain flat rim balance with lever escapement, the solid rear door with shuttered winding holes, strike/repeat/alarm on bell -- 5¾in. (14.5cm.) high; the leather travel case with brass handle to top
