The drum-shaped hood with scroll side mouldings, above tapering trunk with arched glazed door, on plinth with outset chamfered angles and central panel (section of side moulding lacking), the 13in. diameter white dial with subsidiary rings to the centre for seconds and date, signed GARDNER & SON Glasgow (re-touched), with falseplate to the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement -- 78½in. (200cm.) high
