A WILLIAM AND MARY OYSTER-VENEERED WALNUT, KINGWOOD AND FLORAL MARQUETRY CABINET-ON-STAND
Crossbanded overall and inlaid with boxwood lines, the moulded rectangular carvetto cornice above a long cushion drawer inlaid with two acanthus and floral-marquetry shaped panels above a pair of hinged doors each inlaid with a central oval panel of flowers in an urn, surrounded by an oyster-veneered border, the corners with further floral marquetry enclosing a fitted interior of thirteen variously- sized small drawers, each inlaid with a foliate marquetry panel, around a central mirrored compartment with two small drawers and sliding out to reveal four further small drawers, the reverse of the doors each with an oval floral marquetry panel, above a moulded band, the stand with a pair of floral marquetry panelled drawers, on spirally-turned baluster legs joined by a waved stretcher inlaid with foliage medallions, on bun feet, restorations, restored in the 19th Century at which time the cornice and stand were partially replaced
