Note: The Calcutta Gazette Notice of 9 August 1810 directed that "A separate Packet will be made up of letters, on which Dawk Postage may be paid, and on which the words "Double Postage" should be distictly written, in rather large characters, over the address, to be forwarded to London from the first British Port at which the ship may arrive"
