A PAIR SÈVRES STYLE TURQUOISE-GROUND TWO-HANDLED VASES AND COVERS
Mid to late 19th century, spurious blue interlaced L's mark, perhaps Minton
Each vase finely modelled after the Sèvres form 'vase de côté deparis' with white-reeded domed cover and pinecone finial above the fluted neck flanked by upright scrolling foliate handles suspending rings, the shoulder moulded with large 'beads', finely painted with allegorical views of the Dauphin and Dauphine being presented the virtues of youth and glory, within shaped reserves and elaborate gilt foliate surrounds, the backs with bouquets, on fluted socles and square bases
