Applied overall with Maltese Crosses and fleur de lys clasps, the top with trefoil-pierced gallery, the fall front with central monogrammed mount, the reverse with leather-lined writing surface, the interior fitted with a recessed compartment, above three shaped parquetry drawers and further concealed compartment with sliding top, the lockplate engraved Alph. Giroux/Paris, with shaped apron and sides and ebonised back, on tapering cabriole legs and brass sabots
