Formerly Politzer & Böhm, the firm of Viennese gold and silver makers, Hermann Böhm, was founded in 1866 and co-run by brothers Hermann, Hugo and Max. The company had an active foreign clientele, no doubt due to its participation at international exhibitions such as Vienna, in 1873 and Paris, in 1889, where its work was listed in the Catalogue Genéral Officiel as "Objets d'art de fantaisie, or, argent, email sur cuivre, en cristal de roche et en lapis lazuli.
