Lot Essay

Firearms of this archaic type are very rare outside Continental arsenals and civic museums. The maker's mark 'WH' is found with a Suhl mark on a wheel-lock Hakenbüchse in the Tøjhusmuseet, Copenhagen. See Der Neue Støckel, p. 569
