With browned twist octagonal barrel ratchet rifled with nine shallow grooves, signed on the top flat, and with blued sights (extra leaf missing from back-sight), engraved case-hardened patent breech with four platinum lines and screw-in plug, case-hardened tang finely engraved with a tiger-mask and scrollwork on a matted ground, signed serial numbered scroll engraved detented case-hardened lock with safety-catch, the hammer with detachable striker, finely figured walnut half-stock (minor bruising and loss of finish), blued iron mounts finely engraved en suite with the barrel tang, case-hardened trigger-plate, blued double set trigger, silver escutcheon and fore-end cap, iron sling mounts, original brass-mounted ramrod, and much original finish: in original fitted mahogany case marked 'Col. Lindsay' and lined in blue velvet, with numerous accessories including leather-covered powder-flask, the lid with trade label of William Smith, No. 59 Princes Street, Leicester Square for circa 1820-30, flush-fitting carrying handle, and circular escutcheon, London proof marks
