A Rare Cased 38-Bore Four-Barrel Smooth Oval-Bore Percussion Sporting Rifle

With signed browned twist barrels sighted to 300 yards and inscribed 'Patent. Smooth. Bored. Rifle', matted ribs, case-hardened patent breeches engraved at the centre and each with platinum plug, long case-hardened scroll engraved tang incorporating the sprung release catch allowing the barrels to rotate, signed rounded scroll engraved serial numbered detented back-action locks each with blued safety-catch to the rear of the hammer, finely figured walnut butt, chequered grip, raised cheek-piece, case-hardened patch-box cover finely engraved with a stag and four hinds in a landscape, blued iron mounts finely engraved with scrollwork, chequered butt-plate with a deer hound on the tang, trigger-guard with chequered spur, engraved on the bow with two stags locked in a duel, silver escutcheon, and some original finish: in original lined and fitted brass-bound serial numbered oak case, with numerous accessories including original Hawksley leather-covered powder-flask, original bullet mould, powder-measure, and patch-cutter, all serial numbered except the last, the lid with trade label, flush-fitting carrying handle, and circular escutcheon, London proof marks
