A Very Rare Flintlock Turn-Over Blunderbuss
By Onion and Co., Birmingham, circa 1770
With belled brass barrels in three stages each engraved with rococo ornament on the octagonal breech, with two rings at the muzzle, and its own pan and steel, engraved iron tang, flat bevelled lock engraved with rococo designs and signed on a ribbon (cock an old working replacement), figured walnut full stock (minor chips and bruises) carved in relief with a shell behind the barrel tang, engraved brass mounts of fine quality decorated with rococo ornament, cast escutcheon with helmet above, engraved iron trigger-guard forming the barrel release, and horn-tipped ramrod, Birmingham proof marks, barrel-forger's mark RW, a star above
