With rebrowned two-stage twist barrel and gold fore-sight, the breech section octagonal then sixteen-sided and signed in gold, patent breech (bruised) with two gold lines and gold-lined touch-hole, engraved tang, signed case-hardened border engraved flat serial numbered lock with roller, rainproof pan, and 'French' cock, figured walnut half-stock (minor bruising), chequered grip, raised cheek-piece, finely engraved iron mounts, trigger-plate with pineapple finial, gold escutcheon engraved with owner's initials 'WR', gold barrel-bolt escutcheons, horn fore-end cap, original brass-mounted ramrod, and traces of original finish, London proof marks
