A 14-Bore Flintlock Sporting Gun

With two-stage twist barrel, turned girdle and silver spider fore-sight, the octagonal breech with gold-lined maker's stamp and gold-lined touch-hole, shaped tang with characteristic engraving, flat lock with moulded border, stepped tail, roller, gold-lined pan, later cock, and third form of signature, figured walnut half-stock carved in relief with a shell behind the barrel tang, chequered grip and fore-end with a dot in the centre of each diamond, iron mounts with typical engraving, the butt-plate with owner's initials 'RH', the scroll trigger-guard with second pattern acorn finial, horn fore-end cap, and horn-tipped ramrod (some wear and light pitting), London proof marks
