A Fine And Rare Flintlock Turn-Over Combined Sporting Gun And Rifle

With sighted rifled barrel of 29-bore cut with eight grooves, and 20-bore smooth barrel, each swamped, in two stages and signed on the octagonal breech, the latter with silver spider fore-sight, gold-lined touch-holes and an engraved band of beadwork at the rear of each breech, finely engraved tang, flat bevelled back-action lock finely engraved with rococo designs and with stepped tail, each barrel with its own pan and steel, the latter with roller, the forward part of the locks each signed 'Oakes' in script, figured walnut butt carved in relief with a shell behind the barrel tang and inlaid with silver wire scrollwork and a rocaille opposite the lock, engraved iron mounts, set trigger, and horn-tipped ramrod (iron parts with some minor pitting and discolouration), London proof marks
