A Composite 64-Bore Scottish All-Metal Snaphaunce Belt Pistol
Dated 1617 and 1626
With multi-staged brass barrel with iron bead fore-sight and raised mouldings, the flat surfaces engraved with strapwork enclosing foliage and expanded flowers, the rear of the breech dated '1626' and with pronounced slotted ramp, bevelled brass lock engraved with 'fern' patterns and an expanded flower, and struck with maker's mark 'AA' conjoined, the fence to the pan dated '1617' (pan-cover, steel, and steel-spring expertly replaced), later engraved brass stock with 'fish-tail' butt, and later iron trigger, ramrod, and belt hook
