A 36-Bore German All-Steel Wheel-Lock Belt Pistol
Circa 1590, probably Nuremberg
With swamped two-stage barrel etched on the forward part with strapwork enclosing scrolls and a portrait bust, the octagonal breech section struck with a mark, 'HH' above a unicorn, flat lock etched with hounds and interlaced foliage, all on a dotted ground, and struck with a mark, 'CB' and a dancing bear, engraved cock and pan-cover, and later swivelling safety-catch, hollow stock etched en suite with the lock, small globose pommel with button finial, long iron belt hook, and iron ramrod (some etching worn)
