A Rare 25-Bore Italian Wheel-Lock Terzarol (Terzaruolo)
Late 16th Century
With swamped sighted barrel, the forward section sixteen-sided, the lightly engraved breech section struck with a defaced mark, long tang, flat lock struck with an indistinct mark on the tail and with engraved wheel-guide and pan-cover, figured walnut full stock, iron-bound 'fish-tail' butt, pierced and engraved trigger-guard, pierced belt hook, lightly engraved iron fore-end cap, trigger formed as a marine monster, and later iron-tipped ramrod, in fine condition throughout
