1903-04 W600 Sporting Life Chief Bender Rookie (Street clothes, Type 3 mount) (SGC 2 GD)
Scarce oversized cabinet card is regarded as Bender's rookie card issue, and shows the Hall of Famer in "street clothes." This highly desirable series of baseball cabinet cards was issued from 1902 to 1911 by the National Sporting Life Company. The set consists of more than 650 cards with the precise total remaining unknown, given they were both sold and issued as a redemption.
The piece offers an attractive image which is minimally effected by spotting/discoloration. Mild scattered wear most notably effects the lower right corner which has some wrinkles/creases (more prominent when viewing from the back). There is a vintage ink mark/notation on back: SGC 2 GD
