Of rectangular form with rounded corners, the pale brown agate hinged box with gold stippled ground bezel with green translucent enamel leaves enclosing red translucent enamel pellets amongst opaque white dots, the diamond set thumbpiece between two chased scrolls, the cover set with an agate cameo depicting the profile of Tsar Nicholas II and Empress Maria Feodorovna in a gold ribbon tied opaque white enamel rim surmounted by an Imperial Russian crown set with diamonds, within a gold wreath set with rose-cut diamond leaves and cabochon ruby berries emanating from a blue enamel bow, marked on bezel, in fitted case stamped Wartski

Lot Essay
The blue enamel bow is very reminiscent of the bow replacing the Imperial Crown on the order of the white Eagle during the Provisional Government in 1917.
